best cushion to support correct posture May 07, 2008
By Boston, MA I have tried several lumbar back cushions and seat cushion. This is my overwhelming favorite - the gel is firm and comfortable to sit on. I have found the regular foam pillows to be insufficiently supportive and too bulky. This cushion supports the natural curve of my spine, eliminating back and psoas muscle strain. The only challenge is that in a car, you'll need to adjust your car seat for the added height of the cushion. I own 4 of these for the cars, as well as kitchen and office chairs.

If you have a sore butt from sitting too long look elsewhere Jan 02, 2011
By Lonestar fan This is okay, and it helps if you are sitting in bleachers, or someplace like that, but it is pretty hard and after an hour or so I was in as much pain as before sitting on the hard chair I bought it for. I wish I had returned it, it has just sat gathering dust. I am still desperately looking for a good soft foam cushion so I can sit for 10 hours typing without being in agony.

Very Disappointed Jan 25, 2010

It is too small, too thin and too hard. Extremely disappointed. I was hoping it was soft but it is not and it does not have enough gel. Not worth the $ in my opinion.

Not Perfect, But Quite Helpful May 25, 2010

I've been using the G-seat gel cushion for a few years and intend to buy another. I have fibromyalgia, which causes discomfort when I sit on hard surfaces. This cushion enables me to sit on wooden, or hard plastic surfaces without having to squirm in pain. It's very easy to carry when I go out, as it folds to fit in a backpack, or large purse. I don't find it helpful on cushioned seats, however, as it actually adds firmness in such cases. At home, I use a three-inch thick pad of visco memory foam (similar, yet less expensive, to Tempurpedic), but it's too bulky for public situations.
Although the gel cushion is pricey, I've gotten my money's worth. Mine isn't worn out, even after taking it to school for two semesters, but it has begun to fray a bit around the edges. I want a second one that's fresh and clean, for theater and restaurant use.
